How Primo hoagies Began

It started with a family recipe, a small storefront, and an unyielding belief that a great hoagie could change someone's day. In 2005, founder Marco Deluca opened the first Primo hoagies location in Fort Lauderdale, Florida — built on the idea that primo quality should be accessible to everyone.

What began as a neighborhood primohoagies spot quickly earned a loyal following. Word spread about the freshly baked bread, hand-sliced meats, and house-made sauces that set us apart from every other sub shop on the block. By 2010, we had expanded to three locations across South Florida.

2005

The First Shop Opens

Marco Deluca opens the original Primo hoagies on 17th Street in Fort Lauderdale with a 10-item menu, a secondhand slicer, and a dream to make the best hoagie in South Florida.

2008

Best Sub Shop Award

Primo hoagies wins "Best Sandwich Shop" in Broward County two years running, cementing our reputation as the go-to destination for authentic, fresh-made hoagies in Florida.

2011

Expansion to 3 Locations

Growing demand leads us to open two additional locations in Miami and Boca Raton. Our catering division launches, serving corporate clients, weddings, and community events.

2015

Going Green

We introduce our sustainability initiative — switching to eco-friendly packaging, partnering with local farms for fresh produce, and launching our food waste reduction program.

2019

Online Ordering Launches
